Help with setting up desktop computer to Samsung Plasma TV? - samsung desktop computer

I read about how to configure computers and televisions, but still a topic in depth. The plan is-connect for my computer to a TV with a DVI - HDMI cable. Unfortunately, the tower has no computer DVI port. BUT. The computer monitor is connected to the tower with a VGA cable with an additional DVI port. I wondered whether I can use the DVI connection and a connection to your TV.

So my question is ... Is it effective in the first place? And if so, I am able to see the desktop on both screens? Any information is greatly appreciated!
